The only car the beak looked like it belonged on was the TSX. It wasn’t great, but it was okay.

a4: has always been the DEFINITION of boring and bland. Its just “a sedan”

CLA: looks like a jelly bean, also quite “boring”

3 series: I have never seen anything more boring and utterly soulless as the hundreds of base spec 320/328/3whatevers I see in my work parking lot every day. last good looking 3 series is e90/92 335i or m3

q50: pretty much looks like the acura but more swoopy and overwrought

I would never buy one but I dont understand how people can just assign “boring” to one car when the whole segment is just variations of the same played out design, and the ones that stand out are actively ugly.

The A4 and 3 series at least have a reason to be boring, its their history. The company is refining a long term look and getting sales doing it.

The IS and Q50 are at least trying. Yea the CLA is bad, but the C-Class is pretty. The TLX looks like a video game car where they didn’t want to get sued for using some else’s grill design.

I think same rules apply to Acura beak. If you have to explain to audience why that ugly monstrosity is affixed to the front of the car, you need to rethink your life choices.

If only stylists lived by that rule. Then we might not have Bangled messes, Predator faces, and beaks. During the beak era, I suspect Acura wouldn’t have been able to continue as a going concern without the CUVs. Now that the front end is just quirky, I bet sales will rise.
